First On The Scene Of An Injury
Are you ready to give first aid? First aid is a skill that everyone can develop to help in an emergency.
First aid is the initial help given to a victim until medical help arrives. First aid can help save a life or prevent a minor injury from becoming a major one. First aid is also a useful skill off the job — knowing how to treat household injury or help at the scene of a traffic accident.
First aid courses are available through many employers and community organizations. Also widely available and highly recommended are CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) courses which teach you to save a life when a person stops breathing, chokes or has a heart attack. In addition, training is available on using an AED (automatic electronic defibrillator).
CPR and first aid benefit everyone, both on and off the job. Review company emergency response policies regularly, and keep skills up to date.
