Accept Safety Responsibility
Employers bear a huge responsibility to protect their workers from injury. The regulations they must abide by are very demanding, to say the least. Employees must also take charge of their own safety. Remember, you have the most to gain ... and the most to lose.
Here are a few ways to take responsibility for your own safety:
1. Attend the proper training sessions.
2. Know the health and safety standards that apply to your work.
3. Use safety equipment, PPE and devices properly.
4. Follow all safety procedures and policies.
5. Support or join workplace safety and health committees.
Remember, when it comes to safety, nobody gets a free ride. You have to do your part.
