Violence is now recognized as a workplace hazard, right up there with falls, chemical explosions and motor vehicle incidents.

Your company’s security system is in place to protect your personal safety in addition to safeguarding property.

Do you know your part in these common workplace security measures?

• Keypad security codes, cards, fingerprint and voice recognition are some of the ways to screen out unwanted visitors.  Never tamper with or bypass these systems.
• Do not engage in angry conflicts.  Loud arguments and abusive language have a way of escalating into physical violence.
• Trust your instincts about people.  If you think you are in danger of assault, get away.
