Arc Flash
You know that too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light can cause sunburn to your skin, but did you know that it can also cause a similar condition in your eyes?
The condition is known as optical flash burn, also called arc flash or welding flash, and like a sunburn it has varying degrees of intensity and seriousness. It may appear in one or both eyes, and if not addressed quickly, can cause infection. Infections in the eyes can cause corneal scarring and loss of vision. Prompt action usually results in full recovery.
