Use Your Head to Protect Your Feet
Think ahead to prevent injuries to your feet. Accidents can be prevented by anticipating hazards and taking the necessary steps for prevention.
Considering all the work your feet do for you, they are surprisingly fragile. Each foot contains 26 bones, many of them small and easily broken. Injury to one of these bones, nerves or connective tissues can prevent you from walking and working — permanently.
Your feet are subject to many hazards in the workplace. Falling objects is a major cause of foot injuries. You don’t have to drop an anvil on your foot to be seriously injured; even a screwdriver or bolt falling off a workbench can cause a bone fracture or a puncture injury.
Foot protection starts with your brain. Use your intelligence to recognize hazards and guard against them.
