Ask About Work Safety!

When you start a new job, it is important to make a good impression.  It can be hard to admit you do not know how to do a task or do not understand something.

There are some important questions you must ask about your job, for your own safety.  If you don’t work safely right from the start you might not have a future.

To learn about hazards and safety precautions  ask your supervisor these questions:

• What are the hazards of my job?
• When will I receive safety training?
• What Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should I be using, and how do I obtain it? 
• What procedures should I follow to protect my safety and health? 
• To whom do I report safety concerns? 

If you are a new or young worker, take your safety training seriously.  Ask questions if you do not understand something.  If you are an older and more experienced worker, set a good example by working safely.
