Check Your Smoke Alarm
Fire inspections are a regular part of your workplace safety program.
These fire inspections are also important at home. You should regularly examine your house for situations which could cause a fire or prevent escape. Then take the steps necessary to eliminate the hazards.
One of the most important things to check is your smoke detector. Recent statistics indicate almost all homes have smoke detectors . Unfortunately about half of the home smoke detectors are no longer working a year after installation. They were either installed wrong or not maintained correctly. In many cases, the battery is dead.
Besides testing your smoke alarm, you can help keep your family safe by planning what to do in case of fire.
